A year and one day ago...
I passed the freakin' Bar!
I know I blogged about the exams per subject but I didn't blog anymore about the waiting period and D-day. Waiting period was like this: :-( :-| :-( :-| That's it, pansit!
As for D-day, talk about prolonging the agony! The results was due on March 28, but was moved to the next day after the SC's en banc. I was in the province that time, I resolved not to go to Manila anymore as my family was in the province and I had somewhere to be on the 31st.
I remember that I woke up early that day. I switched on the tv set, "Poseidon" was on HBO. Great, tragic movie, is this a sign? Hope not. There was a scene where black and yellow/gold balloons rained down on some party-goers. Colors reminded me of UST. Is this a sign? Argghhh... I switched channels.
I received information that the results would be released "after lunch." DA came home for lunch, he was more nervous than moi. I think we ate lunch. Does "after lunch" mean 1PM? 1PM passed and my cellphone remained silent. I stayed in bed and I think I dozed off a bit. There were intermittent text messages and it annoyed me even more, hehe. DA opened the bedroom door, "wala pa ba?" We switched on the tv again, there were news flashes broadcasting from SC. Gah, tagal naman ng "after lunch".
3PM, we set up my laptop and the PC. Obsessively refreshed the SC website.
Just before 4PM, my cell phone rang. It was Claudette. I tentatively answered, "Hello?"
"Glaaaads, lawyers na tayo!!!"
I ran to the living room, "Abogado na daw akoI" Pandemonium. Claudette was still on the line but I barely heard her. I think I said congrats to her then goodbye.
DA was still seated on our long wooden chair. "Teka, teka, dalawa kayong (insert surname), nag-exam! Confirm mo munaI" I sat down. I said, "Hindi naman ako tatawagan kung hindi sure," while frantically dialling Claudette's number.
Claudette said she was 100% sure, our names were only a few numbers apart. I went to my laptop, the results are out on the website. I think there were five mirror sites. I clicked on one. It took a while to get to T.
Finally, there it was! No. 1195! This time, DA cheered and got on his cell phone. My phone was ringing non-stop and I tried calling some people, too.
Haaay, sarap balik-balikan.

2008 Bar results will be out any time now. If last year I dreaded D-day, this time, I'm more excited. Word is, it'll be out on April 2. Kita kitz sa SC! :)
